Myanmar Embassy Hosts Myanmar Cultural Introduction Programme as a rotating chair of the ASEAN Ladies Circle (ALC) (10 March 2026, New Delhi)
The Myanmar Embassy in New Delhi, currently serving as the rotating Chair of the ASEAN Ladies Circle (ALC) , hosted a Myanmar Cultural Introduction Programme at the Myanmar Embassy on 10 March 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The programme was attended by approximately 55 members of the ALC, including Ambassadors, Deputy Chiefs of Mission, and members of the Myanmar Embassy and the Office of the Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air).
According to the programme, the welcoming remarks were delivered by Mrs. Pwint Nwe Wai, spouse of H.E. Mr. Zaw Oo, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to India, who is currently serving as the rotating Chair of the ALC. On the occasion, the ALC Chair presented farewell tokens to ALC members who will soon be departing from New Delhi and warmly welcomed newly arrived members who have recently joined the diplomatic community in the city.
As part of the cultural presentation, traditional Myanmar musical instruments, namely the Saung (Myanmar harp) and the Pattala (Myanmar xylophone), as well as traditional ethnic costumes of Myanmar, were introduced. Students residing in New Delhi performed demonstrations of the Saung and Pattala and showcased traditional ethnic attire. The programme also featured a Lat Tee song performance, during which participants enthusiastically joined in the group dance. On the occasion, the Myanmar Embassy also hosted the attending diplomats with traditional Myanmar delicacies, including Ohn-no Khao Swe (coconut noodle soup), Si Htamin served with peas and dried fish, pineapple two-layered Kyauk Kyaw (agar jelly dessert) and Myanmar Tea.
The programme concluded successfully with the patrons and members of the ASEAN Ladies Circle from ASEAN Embassies based in New Delhi taking commemorative group photographs
